Hmm, I don't really have any posts that are specifically about me. So I'm going to do this a little differently... I'll give you ten random facts about myself. Does that work? I sure hope so.
- My name is Amanda. It's a very popular name. In middle school, I was in a class of thirty with twelve girls. Of those twelve girls, seven were named Amanda. So you can imagine how unoriginal my name feels to me. Hence, I dropped the A and added my middle name to the name. And that's were "manda-rae" came into play (although I never capitalize it).
- I live in Madison, Wisconsin. And yes, I hate the snow. But I love the city.
- I have a four pound Yorkie. His name is Gizmo, and he's really cute. He also likes to randomly stick his tongue out.
- I absolutely love Mexican, Indian, and Asian food (with the exception of sushi). I love to eat spicy foods even though I can't really tolerate that much spice. Often, you'll see me bawling my eyes out while eating and saying, "This stuff is nummy!!"
- I'm currently in the process of buying a house. It's a lot of stress and busy work.
- I am an engineer/scientist at heart. So, I often find emotions difficult to understand even though I love reading about emotional people.
- I was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome. If you don't know what that is, google it or you can read about my struggles with it here. I've only read one novel so far that spotlights it; it is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. And that one will make you cry.
- I do not like chocolate. My husband likes this because it means more chocolate for him.
- I can play the violin, viola, bass, and piano. I played in high school but do not play all that often anymore.
- I have a crazy obsession with vampires...

I love the way you listed ten facts about yourself (in line with the way you described yourself as a scientist!) Good luck with the new house. Always exciting. And I sympathize with your sadness about the commonness of your name....I was Debbie in a world of Debbies!

This was too hard of a theme for me so I did something different too! I like how you just listed key info about yourself :) Gizmo the Yorkis sounds like a cutie!!
