Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To Someone Who Doesn't Read Adult Urban Fantasy Series

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's post is the Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To Someone Who Doesn't Read Adult Urban Fantasy Series.

I thought I'd list books from my favorite genre of all time:  adult urban fantasy.  As much as I love reading young adult novels, I tend to find more favorite reads in this other genre.  And it just so happens that these books are all series (and I only have five because I don't read enough).

1.  Dark Swan Series by Richelle Mead
Richelle Mead is one of my favorite authors.  And if you like exploring the gentry world (aka faery world), then you'll most likely enjoy these books.
2.  Mercedes Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs
This was one of the first books that made me sort of like werewolves.  I love following Mercedes in her world of anything paranormal.
3.  Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
This book introduced me to paranormal romance (although the other books have romance as well).  And I've come to the conclusion that there can be a very fine line between paranormal romance and urban fantasy.  But back to the book.  Vampires!  Awesome!
4.  Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris
I absolutely loved these books.  They actually got me back into reading regularly.  I thank my mom for introducing me to this series (she's also the reason I have a fetish for vampires - there must be some must-love-vampires gene we both have).
5.  Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong
One thing that makes these book different from other series if different books have different female protagonists.  And it keeps the series upbeat and refreshing (the books do not slow down as the series goes on).
