In My Mailbox

The "In My Mailbox" post consists of which books we bought during the past week, hosted by The Story Siren.

Gifted:
  • Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
    • Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads
      • I'm so excited to read this one.  And my husband never fails in getting me Cassandra Clare books for Christmas/birthdays.  (I have an awesome husband!)
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Graham-Smith
    • Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads
      • I got this one from my step-mom.  She figured I like Pride and Prejudice and anything paranormal.  So, voila.  One problem though, I haven't actually read Pride and Prejudice; I've only seen the movies.  Sacrilegious, I know.  But maybe this will motivate me to read the actual book...
  • Tastes and Tales of the Great Pine Level
      • So, this isn't an actual novel, but it's a cook book.  It contains home-cooking recipes from the South: Jay, Florida to be exact.  I'm so excited to try some of these recipes. I'm sure I'll be sharing some on my personal blog.
  • Nook
      • That's right: I am the proud owner of an e-reader!!  My husband picked this out for me.  I'm excited to use it; I've already bought a lot of 99 cent books.  Hopefully, I'll like e-books just as much as actual books (if that makes sense).

Won:
  • The Last Incarnation by JA Giunta (and swag)
    • AmazonGoodreads
      • I got a signed copy!!  And there's a poster, bookmark, and pamphlet.  My husband took one look at the book and told me he'd be reading it before me.  Considering his to-read pile consists of three books and mine sixteen, I don't doubt it.  But I'm excited to start this fantasy book.  Thanks goes to JA Giunta and Goodreads for hosting the giveaway.
  • Across the Universe Postcard from Beth Revis
      • I won a Godspeed postcard from Beth Revis!!  Doesn't this make you excited for A Million Suns?  I can't wait for the book to come out...  Thanks goes to Beth Revis.

Purchased:
  • Shadow Heir by Richelle Mead
    • Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads
      • The last book in the Dark Swan series!  You should know that this is my current favorite series.  My after-Christmas present to myself.  I can't wait to read it!

For review:

Daphne and the Mysterious Girls Secret Bathroom Society by Robert Shields
Witches and wizards, what more could a reader ask for?  I don't know much about it, but I'm excited to read it!!  Thanks goes to Robert Shields for my copy.
Halflings by Heather Burch
So I'm thinking angels because of the wings in the cover.  And I haven't found a favorite angel book yet.  So here's hoping I enjoy this one.  Thanks goes to Zondervan Publishing and Netgalley.
Replication: The Jason Experiment by Jill Williamson
Clones!  Talk about a paranormal read I need to check out.  And the cover looks a little disturbingly creepy.  Thanks goes to Zondervan Publishing and Netgalley.

Purchased (e-edition):

Anathema by Megg Jensen
I've seen a couple of reviews for this book, and its peaked my interests.
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Another angel book that I'm hoping turns out well!!
Bumped by Megan McCafferty
I thought this cover was awesome.  And a book about a world where no one over 18 can have kids?  Talk about a dilemma...
Hereafter by Tara Hudson
A main character who's already dead?  I'm intrigued.
A Job from Hell by Jayde Scott
I'm not going to lie; I bought this book solely based on the cover.
The Unidentified by Rae Mariz
I saw this book crop up on a few book blogging sites, and I thought I'd give it a try.

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
Vampires!  I was excited when Xpresso Reads pointed out this freebie.  You should go check it out if you have an e-reader and want a free book!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. :) oh, and I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies a few years back... and it did make me want to read the original... though I still haven't yet. ^_^ But I just finished reading Mr. Darcy, Vampyre.
