Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Breaking the Spine, and it spotlights upcoming books that we as readers are anxiously awaiting...

Truth by Julia Karr
Genre:  Distopian
XVI Series, Book 2
Expected publication:  January 19, 2012

Description (taken from Julia Karr's website):
Nina Oberon’s life has changed enormously in the last few months. When her mother was killed, Nina discovered the truth about her father, the leader of the Resistance. And now she sports the same Governing Council–ordered tattoo of XVI on her wrist that all sixteen-year-old girls have. The one that announces to the world that she is easy prey to predators. But Nina won’t be anyone’s stereotype. And when she joins an organization of girls work- ing within the Resistance, she knows that they can put an end to one of the most terrifying secret pro- grams the GC has ever conceived. Because the truth always comes out . . . and the consequences can be deadly.

I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series.  I like reading futuristic books that go awry.  What's meant to protect children in this future only brands the legal.  And if you're legal, life can be dangerous.  I'm anxiously waiting to read more.

Don't forget to check out my first book giveaway.
